I own both the Galaxy Tab 2 and now the 3. This one has less battery life than the Tab 2, but it's processor is quite a bit faster (Intel Atom Z2560, dual core). It's less thick than the Tab 2 and weighs less, and the speakers are positioned on the sides rather than on the front. The best part about this one compared to the Tab 2 is that this can be charged with a regular micro USB cable - goodbye proprietary charging cable!

I've owned 7 different tablets over the past 3 years, including 2 ipads. This new Samsung is an excellent tablet that is very light , with an extremely bright screen. The intel processor is lightning quick with excellent benchmark test results. It even has an "ir" tv remote control sensor built in that incorporates a very detailed tv guide and allows you to change channels. Also the Samsung Smart Screen gives you voice control, as well as monitors your eye contact and will not turn the display off while you're looking at it.

I really like this tablet. I had stayed away from tablets until now because I couldn't see a use. However I read some technical stuff and the bigger screen than the ereader showed the charts and graphs much more clearly without additional work so I bought. The picture is clear and sharp. Apps are easy to download. I got it without cellular connection capability because of cost. If I had it to do over again I would pay the extra for that capability. We were in Canada on a Train or in a car for long stretches and so couldn't use the tablet which we could have if we would have had the ability to do so.
